RLW: Polemic: Industrial Tourism and National Parks
I found this article very interesting. Edward Abbey's language is very humorous, which makes it fun to read but not very easy to get his idea. I think basically, Edward wrote this long article mainly to say that he didn't agree roads should be built through national parks. Driving on the highway is not a good way to visit a national park. For those who really want to visit a park, they would find a way, a way that is not as convenient as a highway. Most importantly, cars bring a lot of pollutions to the national parks. I agree with his idea. The money the government saved on building roads would be spent on cleaning the environment.
